Procore and Buildertrend are globally recognized construction management platforms. Procore — NYSE-listed with a $10B+ valuation — serves large contractors in 150+ countries. Buildertrend is the preferred choice for American residential builders. But do they truly work for Italian construction SMEs? The honest answer: it depends, and significant gaps exist.
Procore's Italian Gaps
Procore genuinely excels at document management (RFIs, submittals, drawing version control), mobile field use, and quality/safety inspection workflows. However, critical gaps for Italian firms include: no native SDI electronic invoicing integration, SAL (progress payment) reporting that doesn't match Italian D.Lgs. 36/2023 requirements, no Italian regional price list (prezziario) pre-loading, no DURC automatic verification via INPS/INAIL API, and US-based data storage that can conflict with public procurement data residency requirements.
