What is AI Boundary Map?

The AI Boundary Map is a per-step classification of a real workflow: each step is marked as deterministic code, model judgement, or human approval. Published per engagement, it makes the determinism ratio — the share of steps that genuinely need a model — visible before anything is built. In one European manufacturer's order handling, three of eleven steps genuinely needed a model. It is simultaneously a cost, latency and auditability argument, and it counter-positions against vendors who answer every step with AI.
